Ron is a chartered civil engineer, a Fellow of The Institution of Civil Engineers and a Member of the Institute of Management. He is also registered as "Eur Ing", entitling him to practice engineering in any European country. After a 32 years career in Local Government, the last eleven years as a Chief Officer heading a technical department, he now enjoys early retirement playing his trumpet and doing charity work.

I am keen experienced amateur trumpet player and I am currently principal trumpet with the Stratford-upon-Avon Symphony Orchestra, lead trumpet in "Straight Ahead" big band, and regularly play as an 'extra' in local orchestras in North Oxfordshire and South Warwickshire.  I also have experience playing in Brass and Wind Bands.

I have also played for the Stratford Music Centre's productions in both Stratford-upon-Avon and at the Edinburgh Festival in 2001 and 2002, and as a regular player in the "pit ", I love playing for shows and welcome any opportunity to play for local productions.

I welcome any enquiries regarding playing for shows, orchestral performances, weddings etc, so please use the following link to check my availability.

As an active Rotarian, I am treasurer of the Rotary Club of Banbury which raises about £25,000 per year for charitable causes.

I also have the privilege to be the Chair of the Board of Trustees of BYHP, a Banbury based charity which exists to support and assist Young People in finding and maintaining a safe home from which they may be assisted to determine their own opportunities in life.
